Mbambo became Kumba's chief financial officer and an executive director on 1 January 2026, succeeding Bothwell Mazarura, who had held the post for close to eight years. He joined from logistics group Grindrod, where he spent 12 years and served as group chief executive, overseeing its repositioning as a focused logistics group.
