Learmonth joined Caledonia in 2008, became chief financial officer in 2014 and now runs the Zimbabwe-focused gold miner, which owns the Blanket mine. An Oxford graduate and chartered accountant, he was previously a division director at Macquarie First South. He is driving the $484m Bilboes development, targeted for first gold at the end of 2028, and in August 2026 announced a maiden resource at the neighbouring Motapa property.
