Overview
What Implats does
One of the world's largest PGM producers, incorporated in 1966 and headquartered in Illovo, Johannesburg. Implats mines on the two richest PGM ore bodies, South Africa's Bushveld Complex and Zimbabwe's Great Dyke, and also runs Impala Refining Services, which toll-treats metal for other producers.
South African operations are Impala Rustenburg, Impala Rustenburg North Shafts (formerly Impala Bafokeng), Marula and Two Rivers; in Zimbabwe it controls Zimplats and co-owns Mimosa, and in Canada it runs Impala Canada. For the year to June 2026 it guided to group refined and saleable production of 3.4-3.6Moz. It holds just under 15% of the Waterberg joint venture project in Limpopo.
