Muller has led Implats since 2017. A mining engineer, he made his name running Gold Fields' difficult South Deep mine before moving to Implats, where he has completed several acquisitions, including the takeover of Royal Bafokeng Platinum and its Styldrift mine. In September 2026 he presented a sharply higher set of annual results and outlined a new-phase capital programme of R60bn.
