Pouroulis has led PGM and chrome producer Tharisa since 2009 and comes from a Cypriot mining family whose ventures span coal, diamonds and platinum in South Africa; his father Loucas chairs the company. He also co-founded Arxo Logistics, which moves Tharisa's output. In September 2026 he secured a $300m bond to finish the $545m Karo Platinum project in Zimbabwe.
