O'Driscoll took over as chief executive of Alphamin in March 2026 after serving as the tin miner's chief financial officer since 2015. A Fellow of Chartered Accountants Ireland with earlier experience in gold and iron ore, he runs the Bisie mine in the DRC's North Kivu province, which produces about 6% of the world's tin, and has overseen record earnings on the back of a surge in tin prices.
