Miller became chief executive of Anglo American Platinum on 1 October 2023 after four years as its finance director, and led the company through its 2025 demerger from Anglo American and rebranding as Valterra Platinum. A chartered accountant who trained at Deloitte, he spent close to two decades in Anglo roles spanning PGMs, base metals and bulk commodities in South Africa, Brazil and the UK. In July 2026 he reported a sharp jump in half-year earnings on higher PGM prices.
