Assmang

Unlisted South African iron ore and manganese producer incorporated in 1935, owned in equal 50:50 shares by Assore and African Rainbow Minerals. It ranks among the country's largest exporters of both commodities.

Assmang mines manganese ore at the Black Rock complex (Nchwaning and Gloria) and iron ore at the Khumani and Beeshoek mines, all in the Northern Cape, and smelts manganese alloys at Cato Ridge in KwaZulu-Natal and through the Sakura joint venture in Malaysia.
